Basics

This privacy policy is intended to inform users of this website about the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the website operator [Tarot – Conradius].

The website operator takes your privacy very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the law. Since new technologies and the ongoing development of this website may lead to changes to this privacy policy, we recommend that you reread it at regular intervals.

Definitions of the terms used (e.g. «personal data» or «processing») can be found in Art. 4 GDPR.

Access data

We, the website operator or site provider, collect data about access to the website on the basis of our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) and store it as «server log files» on the website’s server. The following data is logged:

  • Website visited
  • Time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/referrer from which you reached the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used

The server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, e.g. to be able to investigate cases of misuse. If data must be kept for evidence purposes, it is exempt from deletion until the incident has been finally resolved.

Reach measurement & cookies

This website uses cookies for pseudonymized reach measurement, which are transferred to the user’s browser either from our server or from a third-party server. Cookies are small files that are stored on your device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies increases the user-friendliness and security of this website. If you do not want cookies for reach measurement to be stored on your device, you can object to the use of these files here:

  • Cookie opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative: Cookie Net
  • Cookie opt-out page of the US website: Cookie US
  • Cookie opt-out page of the European website: Cookie EU

Common browsers offer the option of not allowing cookies. Note: if you change these settings, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to use all functions of this website without restrictions.

Collection and processing of personal data

The website operator collects, uses and passes on your personal data only if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the data collection. Personal data is any information that serves to identify you and can be traced back to you – for example your name, your email address and your phone number.

You can also visit this website without providing any personal information. To improve our online offering, however, we store your access data to this website (without personal reference). This access data includes, for example, the file you requested or the name of your internet provider. Because the data is anonymized, no conclusions can be drawn about you personally.

  • What? – We process personal data such as first name, last name, IP address, email address, place of residence, postal code and the content of messages from the contact form.
  • How? – We process personal data only with the express permission of the users concerned and in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.
  • Why? – Personal data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in fulfilling our contractually agreed services and in optimizing our online offering.

Handling of contact data

If you contact us as the website operator through the contact options provided, your details will be stored so that they can be used to process and answer your request. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

Handling of comments and posts

If you leave a post or comment on this website, your IP address will be stored. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interests within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and serves our security as website operator: if your comment violates applicable law, we can be held responsible for it, which is why we have an interest in the identity of the author of the comment or post.

Google Analytics

On the basis of our legitimate interests in optimizing and analyzing our online offering within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, this website uses the service «Google Analytics», which is offered by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). The service (Google Analytics) uses «cookies» – text files that are stored on your device. The information collected by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google LLC complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement: Privacy Shield agreement

IP anonymization is active on this website. Users’ IP addresses are shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area and in the other contracting states of the agreement. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address first transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. This shortening removes the personal reference of your IP address. The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not combined with other data stored by Google.

Under the data processing agreement that we as website operator have concluded with Google Inc., Google uses the information collected to compile an evaluation of website usage and website activity and provides services related to internet usage.

The data collected by Google on our behalf is used to evaluate how individual users use our online offering, e.g. to create reports on activity on the website in order to improve our online offering.

You can prevent cookies from being stored on your device by adjusting the settings in your browser. If your browser does not allow cookies, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to use all functions of this website without restrictions.

You can also use a browser plugin to prevent the information collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to and used by Google Inc. The following link takes you to the relevant plugin: Google partners

Alternatively, by clicking this link (IMPORTANT: insert opt-out link) you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about you on this website. By clicking the link above, you download an «opt-out cookie». Your browser must therefore generally allow cookies to be stored. If you delete your cookies regularly, you will need to click the link again each time you visit this website.

Use of Facebook social media plugins

On the basis of our legitimate interest in analyzing, optimizing and operating our online offering (within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), this website uses the Facebook social plugin, which is operated by Facebook Inc. (1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). The integrations can be recognized by the Facebook logo or by the terms «Like» and «Share» in Facebook’s colors (blue and white). Information on all Facebook plugins can be found at the following link: Facebook plugins

Facebook Inc. complies with European data protection law and is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement: Privacy Shield agreement

The plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook servers. The website operator has no influence whatsoever on the nature and scope of the data that the plugin transmits to the servers of Facebook Inc. You can find information on this here: Facebook Help

The plugin informs Facebook Inc. that you as a user have visited this website. Your IP address may be stored in the process. If you are logged into your Facebook account while visiting this website, this information will be linked to it.

If you use the plugin’s functions – for example by sharing a post or «liking» it –, the corresponding information is also transmitted to Facebook Inc. If you want to prevent Facebook Inc. from linking this data to your Facebook account, please log out of Facebook before visiting this website and delete the stored cookies. In your Facebook profile you can make further settings on data processing for advertising purposes or object to the use of your data for advertising purposes. You can reach the settings here:

You can read in Facebook’s privacy policy which data Facebook collects, uses and processes, for what purpose and to what extent, and what rights and settings you have to protect your privacy. You can find it here: Facebook privacy policy

Newsletter subscription

The website operator offers you a newsletter in which it informs you about current events and offers. If you want to subscribe to the newsletter, you must provide a valid email address. By subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.

The newsletter is sent by the mailing service provider Tarot – Conradius.

Withdrawal and cancellation: you can withdraw your consent to receive the newsletter at any time and thereby cancel your subscription. After you cancel, your personal data will be deleted. Your consent to receive the newsletter expires at the same time. You will find the cancellation link at the end of every newsletter.

Your rights as a user

As a user, you have the right, on request, to receive free information about which personal data has been stored about you. You also have the right to have incorrect data corrected and to have the processing of your personal data restricted or deleted. Where applicable, you can also exercise your right to data portability. If you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully, you can file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Deletion of data

Unless your request conflicts with a legal obligation to retain data (e.g. data retention requirements), you have the right to have your data deleted. Data we store will be deleted once it is no longer needed for its intended purpose and no statutory retention periods apply. If deletion is not possible because the data is required for permissible legal purposes, its processing will be restricted instead. In that case the data will be blocked and not processed for any other purpose.

Right to object

Users of this website can exercise their right to object and object to the processing of their personal data at any time.

If you would like your stored personal data corrected, blocked or deleted, or would like information about it, or if you have questions about the collection, processing or use of your personal data or wish to withdraw any consent you have given, please contact us.
