The Moon
The Path Through the Night
The energy of the card
Between two towers a path leads beneath the moon into the unknown; dog and wolf howl, a crayfish climbs out of the water. The card shows fears, uncertainty and deception – and a threshold beyond which something precious is waiting.
Your path with this card
You walk the path through the night step by step, by a light that is just enough. With every step the dark loses some of its terror. The Moon invites you to face your fears.
- Which fear stands between you and your next step right now?
- What would appear if you shone a light into the dark?
In the shadow
Here the card itself lies in shadow: vague fears, deception, disorientation. It invites you to listen to your feelings and set out anyway.
The image and its meaning
The dog (the tamed part of us) and the wolf (the wild part of us) howl longingly at the moon.
We experience a longing for fulfillment and lose ourselves in our dreams and desires. Only the moon lights the shadowy night; only the vague outlines of things can be made out. The tarot card The Moon calls on us to follow our inner feeling and to give in to our longing.
There is another truth behind the familiar reality. Our subconscious has already recognized it; it just has not yet reached our conscious mind. Perhaps we first have to go through an emotional crisis to become aware of it; at the very least, something about a matter is still unclear.
The Moon calls on us to drop our fears and to allow our deep longings to light the way through the darkness.
